Privacy Policy

Applycruit (“we”, “us”) runs the job-matching website at applycruit.com and the Applycruit AI Assistant browser extension. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email devteam@applycruit.com.

The extension helps you apply for jobs: it fills in job application forms using your Applycruit profile, shows how well a job matches your résumé, and keeps track of applications you submit. It never submits an application for you — you always review the form and press Submit yourself.

Account information. Your email address and password when you sign up on applycruit.com (passwords are stored only as a secure hash). The extension keeps a sign-in token in your browser’s local extension storage so you stay signed in.

Profile and résumé. The résumé and profile details you upload on the website — such as your name, contact details, work history and skills. The extension uses these to fill application forms.

Job application page content. Only on job application pages, and only when you ask the extension to fill a form or open a job from Applycruit: the questions on the form (field labels, field types and the available options), the answers currently in those fields (to double-check them), the page title and address, and the visible text of buttons and links (to locate the application form). When you view a match score or save a job, the job’s title, company, location and description.

Answers you save. Answers to screening questions that you confirm, so they can be reused on later applications.

Application activity. Which jobs you start applying to from Applycruit, and confirmation that an application was submitted, so it appears in your tracker.

Sign-in security information. When you sign in (on the website or in the extension), we record your IP address and browser type to protect your account — for example, to detect and block suspicious sign-in attempts.

• We never read, fill or store passwords on the sites you apply to.
• We don’t collect your browsing history. The extension decides on your own device whether a page is a job application; nothing is sent from other pages.
• We don’t record keystrokes, and we don’t collect payment information.

• To fill job applications and draft answers to screening questions.
• To rank jobs against your résumé and show match scores.
• To keep your application tracker up to date.
• To operate, secure and improve Applycruit.

We don’t use your data for advertising, and we don’t sell it.

To draft answers, match jobs and find application forms, we send the relevant information — for example a form question together with the parts of your profile needed to answer it — to third-party AI providers that process it on our behalf. We currently use OpenAI, and may use Google (Gemini) or Anthropic as backups. They receive only what a given request needs.

We share data only with:

• Service providers that run Applycruit for us — cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services) and the AI providers above.
• Authorities, when required by law.

When you submit an application, the employer receives it under their own privacy policy. Applycruit does not submit applications on your behalf.

The use of information received from Google APIs and the Chrome extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data collected by the extension is used only to provide the features described above; it is not transferred or sold to third parties for advertising, credit-worthiness or lending decisions, and is not used for any purpose unrelated to the extension’s single purpose of helping you apply for jobs.

Your data is stored on servers operated by Amazon Web Services in the European Union. It travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, passwords are hashed, and access is limited to what’s needed to run the service.

We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and data, email devteam@applycruit.com; we’ll delete it within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something. Signing out of the extension or uninstalling it removes the sign-in token from your browser.

You can view and update your profile on applycruit.com, ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, sign out of the extension at any time, or uninstall it.

Applycruit is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

We’ll post any changes here and update the effective date. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know by email or in the app.
